What's New

PTL 4.0 is a major update that introduces a host of new features, including parallel components that take advantage of multi/many core hardware and scale linearly with the number of cores.

The new and enhanced features available with this version of PTL are:

Majority of algorithms have a sequential and parallel version (Find vs. PFind, Copy vs. PCopy, etc.).
New persistent containers (FMap32, FMap64) and the containers' operations are now much faster and safer and many of them are parallel.
Improved thread safe operations and the PTL will throw an exception anytime it is incorrectly used.
New and improved function objects with various generic arguments to specify a policy, that are very useful because they allow generic algorithms to be even more general.
Allowing query and binding tools to work with library containers by implementing required interfaces.
The speed of the Bitsets' operations has been improved with an order of magnitude and many of them are parallel.

PTL provides the tools needed to develop powerful applications using the generic and parallel programming paradigms.

The PTL Standard version contains innovations in the following areas:

Building software components that will take advantage of multi/many core hardware is much easier using these libraries.

The PTL Premium version contains innovations in the following areas, in addition to the standard version:

Every memory container can be stored or retrived to/from a file or a generic stream, that can be shiped across network.
Very large persistent containers (FVector32, FVector64, etc.) that can be used as a data repository for your applications. The limit for the containers is practically your computer memory or hard drive space.
Provide thread safe and very efficient allocators (even for allocating addresses for small objects) when you write your own containers.
